so the other night i took two pageant dresses to "The Dress Sale" in hopes of selling my dresses and getting money in return. My mom tried to argue with me about who was going to get the money. I mean really?!
MOM-"You didn't pay for them."
ME-" Neither did you."
MOM- " Well I'm putting the money in my New York trip fund."
ME- "Um.. No. I just save us $1000+ by turning down a trip to New York so you're welcome and I'M getting the money."
MOM-"....."
ME- "And I wore the dresses and succeeded in them therefore IIIIIIII am getting the money for spring break! I NEED CLOTHES!"
the end....
OH WAIT...did i mention the dresses idnt even sell?

Pappaw Bob
A couple of weeks ago, my Great Grandfather passed away. He was in the hospital for more than a month. This was my first significant loss of a loved one. My entire family was on egde for weeks. The funeral process is basically a blur in my mind now. I remember standing at visitation, looking around at the beautiful arrangements of flowers and trying to remember memories of our loved papaw Bob. The day before the funeral i was asked if i wanted to write anything to say. I wanted to do it but at the time everything was so cinfusing i couldn't think of what to say. When visitation hours were through, I went home and cried. I wanted so badly to be able to say something about a man who was so important to my family, the words just wouldn't come to mind. So i thought about for a few hours until i finally found a siple way to get the words across: i decided to compose a lidt of things I will miss about him. The list was a success and i surprisingly didnt break down in front of everyone like i thought i would. My family is doing much better now. It will take time to heal from a loss like that, but we all have faith that everything will be okay.
Want Some Weedman?
About six months ago, my dad approached me with the idea of me getting a job. I'll admit the thought of this sounded totally rediculous to me at the time. I was living life without a worry on an allowance of $80 per month. I went to my room to cry and think of any excuse why it wouldn't be possible for me, with accelerated classes, chores and a LIFE, to get a job. Well, to everyone's surprise, I have a JOB! I now am a door-knocker at Weedman Lawncare. I go around asking people of their are interested in a free estimate of their lawn for summer sevices. I LOVE IT! I make nine dollars an hour AND i get excersise. I mean who WOULDN'T want a job? I have the ability to do things on my own!
The Bug
My three year old sister, Ava, has the stomach flu. she looks pale and pretty much awful. She is getting worse by the minute instead of better. She had to get blood taken to test things out. It didn't go so well. They said she is boarderline-ready for the hospital if we don't keep liquids down... thats what has been d=going on in my life the past few days.

If This isn't Chaos, I dont know What Is
Getting ready is difficult enough for a teenage girl. You have your extensive showering, blow drying the thick locks of hair and not to mention the detail and precision that comes along with the wonderful world of makeup. I am NOT a morning person. I don't want to be talked to, looked at or even thought about right when I wake up. I want to go through my routine the way I always do, with everyone else sleeping so nobody can bother me and I can do my thing. The other morning the real world hit and I was struck with a bolt of tragedy in my house. If you read my previous blog, my dog had surgery and has been on kennel-arrest for the past week. Well, as my luck would have it, my little brother woke up my mom by crying profusely. When my mom woke up she let Edward out of his pin. I walked into my living room to whiteness my brother throw up on the living room floor with my mom trying to move him into the kitchen and Edward running freely with staples on his skin and a shaved back side. Not my morning.

A Sad, Sad Day
Our poor Edward, the German Shepard who came to us after a life of starvation and abuse, was hit by a car a little less than a month ago. Today he went to the veterinarian and underwent an extensive and expensive procedure that included the chiseling of the ball on his femur (leg bone). Not only did the vet. accidentally break another bone in his leg, but also had to wire it back into place, resulting in a longer healing period.
My little sister, Ava, is Edward's biggest fan. He sleeps on her floor every night to keep the boogie man and under-the-bed monsters away. Tonight has been a tragic event in the Johnson household. It is currently 9:46pm and Ava is continuing to wheap about how much she needs, misses and loves our dog.
"He will never come back," Ava said.
"Yes he is, he will be back in a few days," mom said with concern in her voice.
"No, I mean never but I know in a few days," Ava replies with certainty.
They continue to casually converse on the topic and eventually Ava decided she could use her charm to cajole her way into catching "a few minutes" of TV time before bed.
I knew those brown eyes would get her places.

You May have seen us on TV?
Okay, let's be honest, I wasn't actually talking about my family when I say you might have seen us on television, but the title caught your eye, right? What I mean by this is if you have ever channel-flipped at 8pm and came across ABC Family's series, "Modern Family," you might know what I am talking about. If not, I welcome you to my life of chaos AKA life of a modern family. The series on TV is a comedy that nearly everyone can relate to in some way or another. It shows the good, the bad, the ugly and most of all the humor that comes along with being a part of something so miraculous. Viewers get to watch the families grow, learn lessons, make confrontations and most of all we get to see them become connected in ways some families lack in this day-in-time.
I am a lucky one. I sometimes think back to the days when I was an only child, the days where Christmas and Halloween were all about me and making me happy. To be honest, I wouldn't change a thing. This past Christmas was something new to me. I have a ten year old brother, three and a half year old sister and another two and a half year old brother. The best part about this year's Christmas celebration was watching the younger children open their packages of Nerf swords, Moon Dough, matchbox cars and video games to see the light in their eyes when thinking about the magic that made Christmas possible. It wasn't about what I recieved anymore, it was time to grow up and realize that it is their turn to have the spot light.
There is Parker, the ten year old brainiac who notices small details and never recieves less than an A on nealry every school assignment. His coorkiness brings laughter and sometimes annoyance to the house but nomatter what people tell him or how they react, he will conitnue to be 100% Parker. There is Ava. "Oh dear," are two words to describe this child. She is three years old, going on 18. Her phrase of the week, "OMG I broke a nail." She watches way too much TV, that is a fact. Her big brown eyes gets her nearly anything and her soft voice saying, "Mommy and Daddy, I Yove you so so so much," is to die for. Then we have Brayden, the runt of the crew. He has semi-wavy blonde hair and tan skin. He looks like a future "Surfer-Dude," in my opinion. Brayden has trouble with speech, which is common with littile boys. His mumbo-jumbo mixture of words confuses and sometimes thrills us. He has an obsession with electronics such as the iPad, or "I-Pahhh," as he calls it. He also enjoys dancing, dancing naked actually. EVERY time he gets out of the bath he wraps up in a warm towel, sprints into the living room, opens his towel to reveal his tiny little hips swaying back and forth with his face lit up. Brayden is just Brayden and thats all there is to it.
If you continue to read this blog, I am going to tell the stories and adventures of my daily and not-so-avergage life. You never know, maybe someday you might actually see us on TV ;)
Goodnight world, Brooke Johnson
